Process of hybridisation

  1. Selection of parents.
  2. Selfing of parents to induce homozygosity.
  3. Emasculation :- removal of anther before anthesis.Emasculation is done to prevent self pollination.
  4. Bagging:- male and female flowers are covered with bags to prevent foreign pollen contamination.
  5. Crosssing of desire and selected plant.
  6. Seed setting and harvesting is done at last.
